Parts of religious structures razed in Delhi's Rani Jhansi Road

IndiaTimes Thursday, 4 January 2024
Authorities in Delhi demolished parts of two religious structures on Rani Jhansi Road due to alleged encroachment causing traffic issues. Bulldozers were deployed for this anti-encroachment drive, reflecting a series of similar actions in recent months. The Hasanpur bus depot also witnessed a drive to clear space around a shrine impacting road traffic. Last year, the Public Works Department took action against three structures on Bahadurshah Zafar Marg. The authorities issued a notice on January 1, urging the removal of unauthorized encroachments by January 2, 2024, emphasizing pedestrian movement obstruction.
