Fire at ATM in Dombivli amid robbery bid, 21L reduced to ash

A fire broke out at an ATM kiosk in Dombivli, Thane, when unidentified persons attempted to break open the ATM machine. Rs 21 lakh in currency notes was reduced to ashes. Tools used to jimmy the machine and damaged CCTV cameras were found at the scene. The incident took place between 1 am to 2 am at State Bank Of India's ATM kiosk on Mahatma Phule Road, Dombivli (West). "We found cash in the machine burnt to ashes. An enquiry shows Rs 21,11,800 in cash was in the machine at the time," an employee said.
