SIMI banned for 5 more yrs citing cases of ex-SIMI cadres working for PFI, ISIS

The Centre declares SIMI and PFI as 'unlawful associations' under UAPA for 5 years, citing recent terror cases involving SIMI leaders and members associated with PFI or Islamic State-inspired modules. Their objective is to radicalize Muslims for violent jihad and establish Islamic rule in India. Among the key terror cases cited by MHA as evidence of SIMI’s activities is the conspiracy to disrupt the visit of PM Modi to Patna in July 2022
