Centre scraps free movement regime with Myanmar

The free movement regime (FMR) between India and Myanmar has been misused to facilitate illegal immigration into areas adjoining Myanmar, as warned by security agencies. The immediate suspension of FMR will require all Myanmar nationals to have a visa to enter India, and those entering without a visa will be treated as illegal immigrants.
