A group of customers suffered mouth burns from dry ice served as mouth freshener at a restaurant in Gurgaon. The waitress mistakenly offered translucent granules to celebrate a birthday. Dry ice is often used for dramatic effect in restaurants and bars. It is a solidified form of carbon dioxide that is dangerous if consumed as it converts into gaseous form.
