Law Commission Chairman Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi resigns; to take oath as Lokpal Members (Judicial)
Wednesday, 27 March 2024 The Law Commission Chairman, Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, has resigned from the commission after a 17-month tenure as the chairperson of the commission and will take oath as one of the three judicial members of the Lokpal at 11 am today.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra's Kolkata residence in a cash-for-query case. This action followed the CBI's filing of a First Information Report (FIR) against Moitra. The Lokpal instructed the CBI to investigate the allegations and provide monthly updates on the progress.
