Skymet predicts normal monsoon for the country but eastern states may face deficit rainfall

Skymet, India's leading private weather forecasting company, announced on Tuesday its prediction of a 'normal' monsoon for this year. According to their forecast, the four-month rainy season is anticipated to witness rainfall at approximately 102% of the long-period average (LPA), with a margin of error of +/- 5%. Rainfall ranging between 96-104% of the LPA is deemed normal, serving as a crucial parameter for successful farming operations in the country
