Congress leader Rahul Gandhi submitted his nomination papers for the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency, a seat held by his mother Sonia Gandhi for two decades. He was joined by Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi arrived at Fursatganj airport and was warmly welcomed by a sizable crowd of local party workers at the collectorate, where he filed his papers. The voting for the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat is set for May 20.
