Naval officer held for ‘sexual intercourse through deceitful means’

A Navy officer, Ramavath Sunil Naik, has been arrested in Kochi under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita for engaging in deceitful sexual intercourse with a woman from Punjab. He allegedly promised to marry her but went back on his word and physically assaulted her when questioned. The officer is now in judicial custody.
