Special cabinet meeting OKs Rs 11k-crore package for Kalyana-Karnataka region

The Karnataka cabinet has passed a resolution asking the Union government for Rs 5,000 crore to develop Kalyana-Karnataka, a region with special status under Article 371(J). Claiming no funds have been received from the Centre in ten years, the state plans new health centres and infrastructure upgrades. A panel will review progress.
