Haryana reports 468 farm fires in a month, highest since 2020

Between Sept 15 and Oct 14, Haryana recorded 468 instances of farm fires during the paddy harvest season, the highest since 2020. Over 38.9 lakh acres produced an estimated 81 lakh tonnes of crop residue. Lack of accessible machinery and a dry season were significant factors contributing to the increase.
