A day before poll, state govt releases aid for women

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced the disbursement of the fourth installment of the Maiyan Samman Yojana, a scheme providing monthly financial assistance to women. The initiative, a key part of the JMM-Congress-RJD government's re-election campaign, promises to increase the monthly payment from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500 if re-elected.
