Seven members of a family from Dehradun were found dead inside a parked car in Panchkula’s Sector 27, following their return from a spiritual event by Bageshwar Dham's Dhirendra Shastri. A handwritten note cited unbearable financial distress as the reason. The head of the family accepted full responsibility and pleaded not to blame anyone. The family included elderly parents and children. One member was found alive but later died in hospital. Authorities are investigating further while the tragedy has sparked conversations around mental health and debt in India.
