Lawyers strike amounts to holding litigants to ransom, declares SC

Supreme Court criticized the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association for striking, impacting thousands of litigants seeking justice. Justices A S Oka and Augustine George Masih demanded an undertaking against future strikes, warning of contempt proceedings. The SC had previously issued a notice to the HCBA in August, questioning their actions.
