Justice Varma case: Supreme Court sets up special bench; CJI Gavai recuses himself

Chief Justice of India, B R Gavai, has recused himself from hearing Justice Yashwant Varma's petition challenging an in-house committee report that found him guilty after unaccounted cash was recovered from his Delhi residence. Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal requested an urgent Supreme Court listing. The CJI was heading a bench which also comprised Justices K Vinod Chandran and Joymalya Bagchi.​​
