Assam makes NRC application receipt must to get Aadhaar

The Assam cabinet implemented a stricter Aadhaar card verification process, requiring applicants to submit their NRC application receipt number. This measure aims to prevent suspected foreign nationals from obtaining Aadhaar cards, particularly in districts where the number of cardholders exceeds the population. Central government employees domiciled elsewhere but posted in Assam are exempt.
