No of high malaria burden states down from 10 in 2015 to 2 in 2023: Health ministry
Friday, 27 December 2024 The number of Indian states and UTs with high malaria burden has significantly reduced from 10 in 2015 to 2 in 2023. This progress is attributed to various strategies, including IRS and LLINs distribution, leading to an 80% drop in cases and deaths over the said period.
In a sweeping operation, ICE agents raided a Hyundai battery plant in Georgia, detaining 475 immigrants in what officials call the largest enforcement action ever at a single U.S. worksite. Authorities revealed that most of those detained were South Koreans employed by contractors and subcontractors, raising diplomatic tensions as Seoul confirmed 300 of its citizens were among those held. Hyundai distanced itself, stressing none of the detainees were direct employees. The raid followed a month-long, multi-agency probe involving ICE, FBI, DEA, IRS, Border Patrol, and ATF.
