'False' toll fee deduction? NHAI cracks the whip

Instances of false toll deductions from FASTag wallets have been identified, primarily due to incorrect vehicle number entries by toll operators. The NHAI has penalized toll collectors in 250 cases, imposing a Rs 1 lakh fine for each violation. This measure has significantly reduced such cases by 70%, with ongoing investigations and refunds issued for verified false deductions.
