Lifting powers transgender persons to new identity in Surat

A group of 17 transgender individuals from Surat have achieved recognition and acceptance in mainstream society by excelling in powerlifting championships. Despite facing numerous life challenges and societal stereotypes, individuals like Mahera Kadri, who won a medal in the 82.5kg weight class, found hope and a new sense of purpose through the sport.
