BMC mulls 13% property tax hike after ready reckoner rate rise

BMC plans to increase property tax rates in Mumbai by 12.5-13% after the last revision in 2015-16. The proposal will be sent for approval soon. They logged a record property tax collection of Rs 6,198.05 crore for 2024-25. Several initiatives were implemented to boost the tax collection.
