Rule of law appears to have completely broken down in UP, says SC

The Supreme Court expressed strong disapproval of the Uttar Pradesh police for routinely filing FIRs in civil disputes, highlighting a breakdown of the rule of law. The court directed the state's Director General of Police to submit an affidavit and summoned an investigating officer to explain the misuse of criminal law in a money dispute case from Noida.
