SC ends logjam: TN gets power to appoint, sack VCs

The Supreme Court's ruling empowers the Tamil Nadu government to appoint vice-chancellors for state universities, ending a long stalemate. Nine universities, including Anna University and Bharathiar University, will soon have VCs appointed by the state. While the governor remains chancellor, their powers are significantly reduced, with the state now overseeing university affairs.
