J&K LG finds business rules 'contrary to Jammu and Kashmir Act', sends file back to CM Omar Abdullah
Saturday, 3 May 2025 Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has sent back the J&K transaction of business rules (TBR) proposed by the Omar Abdullah government, seeking clarification on procedural adherence. The LG's office found the TBR, drafted by a committee led by Rohinton Nariman, to be conflicting with the J&K Reorganisation Act, particularly regarding the authority over postings and transfers of IAS officers.
In a heartfelt statement, Omar Abdullah, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, admitted, "I failed as CM" in the wake of the horrific Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 innocent lives. Rejecting any political maneuvering, Omar declared:
