Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah criticised actor Kamal Haasan for his remarks suggesting Kannada originated from Tamil, citing Haasan's ignorance of Kannada's history. BJP President BY Vijayendra also condemned Haasan, demanding an apology for disrespecting the language.
