Mass resignations in Congress minority unit in Mangaluru over ‘revenge killings’

Following the murder of a mosque secretary, Muslim members of the Congress party in Dakshina Kannada resigned en masse, citing government negligence in protecting the community. In response, the Karnataka government announced a specialized Communal Violence Control Force (CVCF) for the coastal region and transferred two top police officers.
