Centre OKs 85% quota for locals in jobs in Ladakh

The Centre has introduced a new reservation and domicile policy for Ladakh, granting 85% job quota to locals and reserving one-third of seats for women in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Councils. This move aims to protect the economic, cultural, and linguistic rights of the Ladakhi people following the region's separation from Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.
