NHRC Takes Cognizance Of Bengaluru Stampede Incident, Issues Notices To Authorities

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has taken cognizance of the tragic stampede incident outside M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which led to the deaths of 11 people. The NHRC has issued notices to the Bengaluru Urban district’s Deputy Commissioner and the Police Commissioner, seeking an action report within seven days. Authorities are directed to provide details about permissions and accountability.
