Chhattisgarh ambush: ASP killed in IED blast as Maoists use arson as bait; officer stayed calm after losing legs
Tuesday, 10 June 2025 () Additional SP Giripunje was critically injured in an IED blast near Dondra village in Sukma's Konta region while responding to a Maoist arson report. Despite losing both legs, he remained conscious and requested blood and communication with senior officers before succumbing to his injuries. The blast occurred 3.5 km from Konta, where Giripunje had gone with colleagues after receiving a report early Monday. He survived for 15–20 minutes post-blast but died due to massive blood loss.
