Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to restore full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. They highlighted the unique situation of downgrading a state to a Union Territory. The leaders reminded the Prime Minister of his promises regarding statehood. They also requested a bill to include Ladakh under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrives in Beijing for critical talks with Chinese counterpart Wang Yi—the first visit since the 2020 Ladakh military clash that brought ties to their lowest in six decades.
