During the Kanwar Yatra, the Shiva devotees take water from the holy Ganges River in Haridwar, Gaumukh and Gangotri in the state of Uttarakhand. They take water from Indore, Dewas and Shujalpur in Madhya Pradesh and Sultangunj and Pahleja Ghat in Bihar.
