What to do and avoid during Navratri fast?

IndiaTimes Saturday, 14 October 2023
Navratri, a Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess Durga, is celebrated with prayer, and fasting. It promotes values of inner strength and unity and is marked by dance, music, and colorful attire. During the fast, devotees eat sattvic (pure) foods, stay hydrated, and use rock salt instead of regular salt. They break the fast with fruit and offer prasad to the goddess.
