Cycling to work improves mental health: Study

​A new study has shed light on the correlation between an effective mode of transport and its impact on mental health. The study published in the International Journal of Epidemiology found that cycling to work may not only be beneficial for the environment but also for your mental health. A total of 378,253 people aged 16-74 in Scotland were followed up for 5 years for the research purpose. Researchers found a 15 per cent reduction in prescriptions for depression or anxiety among cycle commuters in the five years compared with non-cyclists.​
