Friday, 2 May 2025 () Games like Slay the Spire brought a lot of attention to the deckbuilding genre, and SpellRogue is set to expand on that with excellent, tactical and extremely enjoyable gameplay. In the game you have 4 characters to choose from (1 is already unlocked, 3 need to be unlocked as you level up), each with their own spell set and unique abilities. At its core, SpellRogue is somewhat of a combination between Dicey Dungeons and Slay the Spire. Although it's quite easy to pick up, it's hard to master. You have a row of spell cards; each one requires a certain dice roll to activate. You roll 3 dice (sometimes more based on what artifacts you get or what abilities you unlock), and you can use those dice rolls to unlock the spells at the bottom of the screen. Sounds simple enough, right? Well, characters can find potions and also have abilities that can manipulate and twist their dice.
