US President Joe Biden has reaffirmed Washington's commitment to the Philippines, pledging to defend the country's armed forces or vessels in the event of an attack. Biden made the pledge following a meeting with Philippines leader Ferdinand Marcos Jr that addressed strained relations with China over the South China Sea and Taiwan.
