After racist shooting, DeSantis pledges $1 million for security of historically black college

IndiaTimes Monday, 28 August 2023
Florida governor Ron DeSantis has announced a $1 million donation to enhance security at Edward Waters University, a historically black college. The decision came after a racially motivated attack in Florida, where the gunman attempted to enter the college but was denied entry. DeSantis also pledged to donate $100,000 to charity for the victims' families. The funding measure is seen as a response to allegations of racism against DeSantis.
