Australia to hold Indigenous rights referendum on October 14

Australia will hold a historic Indigenous rights referendum on October 14, according to Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. If passed, Indigenous Australians would be recognized in the constitution for the first time and gain a constitutionally enshrined right to be consulted on laws that impact their communities.
