Russian airport attacked from own territory, Ukraine says
Saturday, 2 September 2023 Ukraine's military intelligence claims that a recent drone attack on an airport in northwestern Russia was carried out from within Russian territory. The attack damaged several transport planes and marked the latest strike on Russian territory since Ukraine vowed to "return" the conflict to Moscow in July. Russian air defences also destroyed a drone approaching Moscow, a day after a similar attack on the capital.
Ukraine's military says it's consolidating the territory gained on the southern front lines and is now trying to punch through the next layer of Russian defenses. CNN's Melissa Bell has the story. #CNN #News
