Thursday, 7 September 2023 Severe rainstorms in Greece, Turkiye, and Bulgaria have caused a death toll of 14, with seven more bodies recovered. Flash floods in northwestern Turkiye killed five people and destroyed bungalow homes. In Istanbul, two people died, including a 32-year-old man trapped in his basement apartment. Over 1,750 homes and businesses were affected in the city. In Greece, three deaths were reported, with three people still missing.
