Philippines vows removal of Chinese barriers at disputed reef

The Philippines is determined to remove floating barriers allegedly installed by the Chinese coast guard at a disputed reef in the South China Sea. The barriers prevent Filipino fishermen from accessing the traditional fishing ground near Scarborough Shoal, which was seized by China in 2012. Philippine officials argue that the installation of barriers violates the fishermen's rights and the 2016 Arbitral ruling.
