Friday, 20 October 2023 US President Joe Biden said he believes that the first aid trucks to reach Gaza via the Rafah crossing from Egypt within the next 24 to 48 hours, with a commitment from Israel and Egypt to facilitate the aid despite the need for road repairs. "I believe in the next 24 to 48 hours the first 20 trucks will come across the border," Biden said as he met European Union chiefs at the White House.
