UK PM announces extra £20 million aid for civilians in Gaza
Monday, 23 October 2023 The UK has announced an additional £20 million ($24 million) of aid to help civilians in Gaza affected by the conflict between Israel and Hamas. This brings the total amount pledged by Britain to Palestinian territories to £30 million. The UK had previously committed £27 million to Palestinians this year. UK leader Rishi Sunak also stated that the explosion at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza was likely caused by a missile fired from within Gaza, based on intelligence analysis.
India on Sunday sent humanitarian aid to strife-torn Palestinians in the Gaza Strip amid the war between Hamas and Israel. Nearly 6.5 tonnes of medical aid and 32 tonnes of disaster relief material have been sent to Palestine, which will reach the country via Egypt.
