Russia will succeed in Ukraine unless US support continues: Pentagon chief
Tuesday, 31 October 2023 US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin warned that Russia would be successful in Ukraine without continued US support for Kyiv. Austin made the statement during a testimony to the Senate Appropriations Committee on President Biden's request for $106 billion to fund plans for Ukraine, Israel, and US border security. Biden requested $61.4 billion for Ukraine, with half of the funds to be spent in the US to replenish weapons stocks. Congress has approved $113 billion for Ukraine since Russia's invasion in February 2022.
