In a first, pope to have day of private meetings with world leaders in Dubai
Thursday, 9 November 2023 Pope Francis will have a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders attending the COP28 climate conference in Dubai. This will be the first time he has had so many high-level, one-on-one meetings in such a short period of time. The pope's position on climate change is well known, and he will use the opportunity to discuss the wars in Gaza and Ukraine with Arab and other world leaders. The conference runs from November 30 to December 12, with the pope attending from December 1-3.
