Norway urges Israel to release full Palestinian tax transfer

IndiaTimes Monday, 13 November 2023
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere has called on Israel to release the full tax transfer it is withholding from the Palestinian Authority (PA). The tax transfer is critical for the welfare of the Palestinian population, as it helps deliver essential services in Gaza and the West Bank. Stoere emphasized that withholding the funds directly affects the welfare and health of the Palestinian people. The PA has stated that it will not accept a partial transfer, as it spends 30% of its budget in Gaza, covering public sector wages and other necessary expenses.
