Killed by Hamas, Israeli filmmaker Yahav Winner was inspired by border horrors
Tuesday, 14 November 2023 Yahav Winner, an established filmmaker, was killed by Hamas militants in October while protecting his wife and baby daughter during an attack on their home in southern Israel. Winner had made a short film called "The Boy" to come to terms with the trauma he had experienced when his best friend's father was killed by a rocket fired by Hamas. The film is now being screened as a tribute to Winner, and his wife is still editing their final film, "Kibbutz Legend".
