Gaza communications down as Israel searches main hospital
Friday, 17 November 2023 Israeli troops have conducted building-by-building searches at Gaza's main hospital, Al-Shifa, in their hunt for a Hamas command centre. There are concerns for the thousands of people, including wounded patients and premature babies, who are believed to be trapped inside the hospital. The blackout of communications in the Gaza Strip has further exacerbated the situation and hindered aid distribution. The UN has warned that the blackout could trigger panic and looting.
