Two foreigners die near Everest base camp due to high altitude sickness

26-year-old Chinese tourist Woniswo Dong was discovered dead in his hotel room at Gorakshep near the Everest base camp on Wednesday. Dong had spent a night moving upward after arriving at Lukla airport from Kathmandu. Elizabeth Diaro, a 42-year-old tourist from the UK, fainted upon reaching her hotel during her ascent to the base camp from Lukla airport. She passed away shortly after on Thursday.
