Embattled Japan PM faces ethics committee to save popularity and budget

Fumio Kishida, the Japanese Prime Minister, will attend a parliamentary ethics committee to address a funding scandal. The committee will question him in a public hearing. The scandal may also delay the fiscal 2024 budget. Kishida's approval rating is at its lowest point, and he faces an LDP leadership contest.
