Young Chinese ease their angst over economy by playing lottery

The initiative to draw in younger customers to state-approved lottery games has been highly successful. Last year, sales surged to an unprecedented 580 billion yuan ($80.6 billion). A significant shift in the demographic of lottery participants was noted, with individuals aged 18-34 comprising more than four-fifths of these customers, a notable increase from just over half in 2020.
