Amid heightened tension, Philippines summons China envoy over South sea standoff

The Philippines has called in the Chinese ambassador to express concerns over China's "aggressive actions" in the South China Sea. This move comes amidst rising tensions following recent incidents. The Defense Minister challenged China to prove its sovereignty claims through international arbitration. The Foreign Minister accused China's coastguard of using a water cannon on a civilian boat at Second Thomas Shoal, causing injuries to the crew.
